ROCKWOOD REVITALIZATION is pleased to announce the projected opening date of the ROCKWOOD VISITORS CENTER on October 4, 2014. The Grand Opening will be part of the ROCKWOOD FALL FESTIVAL which draws Five Thousand people to the Festivities that are held in downtown Rockwood.
New Building History
The historic building was originally The Lyric Theatre, The Ritz Theatre and the J.C. Penney Store before becoming the JB Furniture Store. It only seemed fitting to continue the rich history of the building by being a landmark in the Rockwood community.
Nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Cumberland Plateau the ROCKWOOD VISITORS CENTER AND MUSEUM will offer visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in a days gone by exhibit and explore the creativity and innovation that are traits of the community.
Preserve Rockwood History
ROCKWOOD REVITALIZATION is actively seeking to collect and promote Rockwood history items to preserve the history and stories of days gone by. The ROCKWOOD VISITORS CENTER AND MUSEUM will serve as a culture touchstone in Roane County.
